WASHINGTON: An Amtrak passenger train derailed Friday in the U.S. state of Nebraska, and a company spokesman said there has been no report of serious injuries.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari was quoted by local media as saying the train, which carried about 175 passengers, struck a vehicle on the tracks and derailed Friday morning at about eight o'clock in southwest Nebraska.
The train ran between Chicago and San Francisco, and had 10 passenger cars. The first three cars left the tracks, according to Magliari. He said there were no reports of serious injuries, but unclear if anyone aboard was hurt. AGENCIES
