Over 30 people were killed in devastating flash floods

KOHISTAN: Over 30 people were killed in devastating flash floods in Kandiya Valley of Kohistan.
According to details, Kohistan’s far-flung area of Gibrial overnight received lashing rains in Kandiya Valley, triggering massive torrents running down the hillsides, which washed away several houses down the mountainous slope.

According to police sources, over 30 people lost their lives and several others went missing in the driving rains and accompanying flash floods.

Local people are making all out efforts on self-help basis to recover bodies stuck between Nullah Kareen and Nullah Totti.

Relief efforts are very difficult to carry out in the far-flung mountainous areas. Local representatives and administration demanded the government to initiate helicopter service for the relief operation in the areas.
